One of my favorite quotes is "Friends are God's way for apologizing for your family."
Amusing perhaps, but there are some people (such as friends) that you need in
your life (besides your family of course).
Person #1: A Mentor
When people see the word "mentor" they suddenly get confused.

Is it my soccer coach?
How about my teacher?
Is it that creature from Greek mythology?

No, no, and (oh my God) NO!!!

A mentor (in my opinion) is someone who guides you and helps you along your
journey. They're there for you and push you to do your best. It's also a bonus
if they're a role model!

So if you have a teacher or a coach or, good Lord, a Greek mythology creature
who does that for you -- then you've got yourself a mentor!

My mentors are a camp director, two camp instructors, and one of my favorite teachers.
Just to prove that you can find a mentor just about anywhere!
(They'll be popping up later on because they're more than just mentors to me.)

People #2 and #3: "Sisters" and "Brothers"
I don't have any sisters but, boy, I have enough brothers!
(Three of them, if you don't count my dog.)

But if you find a friend who practically is like a sibling, it is one of the coolest things
in the world of relationships!
You two tend to not to argue on silly sibling things but still have all the affection
and advice that comes with it!

Personally, I have more "sisters" (including one of the camp instructors I mentioned previously).
(Maybe it's because I have no sisters... Or I tend to be shy around guys...?)
But I also have another "brother" who I can talk about in-depth stuff like "What's our purpose?" and
give each other advice. It's very nice to have someone like that in my life!

Person #4: Your Medication
It's someone who lifts your spirits up.

To be honest, it really can be anyone.

My personal medication includes some of my closest friends, Lenka Kripac, memories of my
deceased grandmother Nanny, and Julia Child (I mean, c'mon, who doesn't love Julia?).

Person #5: A Regular Acquaintance
Maybe you don't really know the person, but you see them often and you're on
good/neutral terms with them.

For example, some of mine include the people I see on my walk to school.
(Here's my post on them: Click Here)

It's fun to see them and share a smile with a sorta stranger who really isn't a stranger after all!
